Mr Joseph Crook
BDS , MFDS (RCS Glas)
Joe grew up locally and went on to study dentistry at The University of Manchester. After graduating, he remained in Manchester, working in a mixed NHS and private practice. During this time, he completed postgraduate examinations with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, gaining Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons (MFDS).
Joe was then appointed as a Dental Core Trainee with the Lancashire Care Trust, working within the salaried dental service. In this role, he gained valuable experience in a range of specialist areas, including:
Treating children under inhalation sedation
Managing anxious patients referred by general dental practitioners
Providing care for patients with complex or additional needs
Performing children’s extractions and other dental procedures under general anaesthesia
Participating in fortnightly postgraduate training across all aspects of dental care
Joe joined Martin J Kenyon’s Dental Surgery eleven years ago and continues to develop his skills through ongoing training and professional development. He has completed additional courses and gained further qualifications, including certification to provide short-term orthodontics using the Quick Straight Teeth system, allowing him to help patients achieve a straighter smile.
Alongside his primary roles, Joe has also worked with the Emergency Dental Services for both the Lancashire Care Trust and the Blackpool and Fylde Coast Trusts. This has given him extensive experience in managing dental emergencies, such as acute pain and infections.
Outside of work, Joe is a keen football and golf enthusiast though he’s now hung up his football boots and admits he needs a bit more time on the greens to improve his putting. He also enjoys long walks with his energetic golden Labrador.
